Matt Wright reports
A delay in the delivery of tickets to The Valley for Charlton's first Championship match of 2012/13, against Birmingham City, means places will not go on sale on Thursday as planned.
Birmingham informed the club that the tickets would arrive in SE7 in time for them to go on restricted sale on Thursday morning, but Blues officials are now saying that they might not arrive until Friday.
The Addicks travel to St Andrews on Saturday, August 18th (3pm) for their first league fixture since returning to the second tier of English football.
The commercial centre now hopes to be able to sell tickets during Friday, and the Addicks will publicise during the day via www.cafc.co.uk when places are available.
As a result, the second priority phase of the sales process will be pushed back to next Tuesday, July 31st as detailed below.
Charlton fans have been allocated an initial 2,800 places, with potentially a further 1,400 available.
Tickets are priced £27 adults, £16 over 65s and students (with a valid NUS card), £11 U19s and £7 U13s.
Wheelchair and ambulant disabled places are £20 adults, £10 over 65s and students (with a valid NUS card), £7.50 U19s and £7 U13s (all including a helper free of charge). Six wheelchair spaces are available.
Birmingham have confirmed that they will sell tickets from St Andrews on the day, should any remain, but prices will increase by £2-5 per ticket.
Tickets will hopefully go on sale during Friday to VIP season-ticket holders and Valley Gold season-ticket holders, who will be able to purchase up to two tickets apiece.
All Valley Gold members and season-tickets holders will then be eligible to purchase places from Tuesday, July 31st (to a maximum of two tickets apiece).
Should any remain, tickets will go on general sale on Thursday, August 2nd, when seats will also be available to purchase online.
Supporters can book £18 return travel to St Andrews via the Valley Away coach service, and more information on pick-up points and timings is available here. A mobility coach is planned, but has not yet been confirmed.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Valley matches against Leicester City on Tuesday, August 21st (7.45pm) and Hull City on Saturday, August 25th (3pm) are on general sale at standard prices. Tickets can be bought online via the members' system.
Fans can take advantage of reduced prices for both games by purchasing a Perfect Pair £10 advance discount for adults and many over 60s and U21s if they buy the same ticket for the two home fixtures at the same time. Get more details here.
The Perfect Pair offer will mean that adults can see both the Leicester and Hull games for £30 in the north stand, £34 in the east and upper west wings and £40 top-price seats. Over 60s can pay £26 or £30, but the £13 ticket is excluded from the offer.
Tickets must be bought at the same time and cannot be refunded. The initiative reflects concern at declining crowds for midweek matches and may be repeated if successful.
